Hug & Tell the period

Hug & Tell the period 🩸 is a project – supported by the Youth Meetings Movement – that focuses on co-empowering people in the local community to communicate about menstruation, challenge taboos, express needs and feelings, create connections, unfold tensions and navigate conflicts, in order to find solutions to make the experience of menstruation more bearable in different areas of life (with family, partners, friends, health services, schools, universities, workplaces…).

• 📅 When : 25th of June – 10h00 to 16h00 (with a long lunch break)
• 🌍 Where : Brussels – BruZelle
• 🌞 Who : anyone between 18 and 35 years-old who identifies with the project 👉 people who menstruate + those who care
• 🔊 This workshop will be done in English and/or French depending on the participants’ preference

Throughout the community meeting, and through diverse group dynamics and tools, participants will have the opportunity to meet other people for whom menstruation is also an important subject in their life, share experiences and listen to others with empathy and respect. In Hug & Tell, we trust that each experience is unique, worth embracing, and valid to share. We believe that together people can co-build a respectful space to enable vulnerability and develop empathy – and that with all of this, co-create amazing movements.

What is the Youth Meetings Movement project?
The Youth Meetings Movement project is a year-long project of the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, encouraging young people to participate in democratic discussions at local and international level.
The aim of the program is to transform hate speech into inclusion, division into empathy and to provide tools, training and open spaces for anyone who wants to participate.

• 🎱 The group will be composed of 3 facilitators and a maximum of 8 participants.
